Christian Schuk, director of studies, was born in 1936 in Ratibor. In 1956 he got his A-levels at the Klenze grammar school, in 1962 he graduated from the University of Munich and got his state examinations. From then on he teaches the subjects biology, chemistry and geography at a grammar school in Munich.
His love of nature went far beyond observing and understanding it and finally led to creative exercises like taking pictures, shooting films and painting and drawing.
During his years of study he illustrated scientific books, among others books by Prof. Karl Ritter von Frisch. On educational journeys and hunting trips in Africa, India and several countries in the Eastern Bloc and on hikes through the “Dachauer Land”, his home region, did he sketch landscapes and animals which he used for his paintings afterwards.
Prof. Wülfrath, who had been a student of Kokoschka, cultivated him in watercolour painting.
He learned important aspects concerning the composition of colour when he was restoring the pictures of old artists from Dachau. Today he is engaged in glass painting and in the meantime there are numerous windows which he has designed.
