Karsten Meiwald, who was born in 1966 in East Westphalia, trained as graphic drawer after he did his A-level.

Afterwards, he worked for some years in studios and advertising agencies before he went into business for himself as a freelanced painter and designer. Today, he still makes private and commercial orders but is more devoted to his free artistic work – with more and more success.

He mainly draws landscapes in his favoured oil and watercolour techniques. These pictures are supposed to be an experience and a pleasure for the viewers due to their friendly atmosphere, their shiny colours and the filigree details. The artist, who is as well a nature lover, wants to convey a positive attitude towards life with his paintings. Karsten Meiwald is married, has three children and lives and works in his East Westphalian home.
