Dirk Beckedorf MD was born in 1958 in Hannover.

First examination of art with the age of 16, participation in the exposition of the BBK Hannover in 1976.

During his studies of medicine he was a guest auditor at the comprehensive university of Kassel for one year. He attended courses from the field of free painting at professor Kausch. He became a medical specialist for internal medicine in Bremen. Afterwards, he studied further at the institute of psychoanalytic therapy in Hannover under the supervision of Elisabeth Willendorf. He completed these studies and became an art therapist.
In 1992 he did an additional education in audio-psycho-phonology which was led by Prof. Alfred Tomatis. Since 1993 he has his own medical practice. He works with the listening therapy and as an art therapist in Bremen.

In the last 10 years, his artistic activity revived and resulted in some expositions in 2001.

The meetings with the Japanese artist Meera Hashimoto on several seminars on Ibiza has been an essential inspiration.
In “Elemente”-paintings, interior and exterior rooms overlap. Moments of silence evolve in the elementary strength of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Dynamic flow joins solid structure and mental experience is mirrored in the outside.
Another main focus are paintings of nature in which flowers, herbs and trees are combined in a florid world.
